The Dan Khun Thod cycling for poor students 2019
Nakhon Ratchasima’s Dan Khun Thod district worked with a private company in the renewable energy sector to organise ‘the Dan Khun Thod cycling for poor students 2019” event. It was a charity raising money project to support poor students with educational expenses. The event drew a dozen of people, with more than 500 cyclists being registered to join it. Cyclists went through Huay Bong Windmill Field, Thailand’s and ASEAN’s largest wind farm.
The Dan Khun Thod cycling for poor students 2019 took place on February 17, 2019. The district chief Mr Paitoon Mahachuenjai and Phoonoppon Phoopipat, Wind Engineering Holding Co., Ltd.’s Director of Wind Energy Development Department co-presided over the opening ceremony.
Sponsored by Wind Engineering Holding Co., Ltd, the project, Mr Paitoon said, was aimed at raising money for low-income students in 16 schools under Hindad Huay Bong Education Quality Assurance of Child Development Centre.
The programme’s objectives also included to promote local tourism in response to the government’s ‘one tambon one product’ initiative; and encourage the community members and the local state officers to cycle for health.
Proceeds after deducing expenses will go to Children Education Fund.
